Press Blocks is a mixed-use development comprised of a 24-story high-rise residential building and a 4-story low-rise office building which share a courtyard and four levels of below grade parking.
The high-rise structure is cast-in place concrete with two-way post-tensioned slabs. Reinforced shear walls resist seismic lateral loads. The slab system incorporates a thickened drophead on one side of the core, which increased the spans and reduced the number of internal columns. The low-rise structure is steel framing with mass timber floor joists and buckling restrained braces.
