The Ovation Music Pavilion is the first phase of a $1 billion, 25-acre development by Corporex in Newport, Kentucky. This world class music venue features a sweeping roof design above a tall structural steel frame with an interior mezzanine and two raised stages (one for outdoor events and one for indoor events) totaling approximately 42,000 square feet. Below is a 550-car parking garage that includes a bus dock area for touring performers and their teams. The venue will accommodate indoor audiences of up to 2,700 and outdoor audiences of up to 7,000.
The concrete podium structure consists of post-tensioned slabs supported by columns that simultaneously create frame action to resist lateral loads from wind and earthquakes. The foundation system which supports the Ovation Music Pavilion includes auger cast piling extending ninety feet below grade.
The western portion of this phase includes a connection for a skybridge that spans over Kentucky Highway 9, as well as future plans to incorporate a six-story office building on the north side and a six-story hotel on the south side.
