(CKC), has been honored with a 2024 Outstanding Projects and Leadership (OPAL) award from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). The annual OPAL awards recognize outstanding achievements of ASCE members in five categories: construction, design, education, government, and management.

Construction recently topped out on the second and final phase of Security Properties and Urban Renaissance Groups Press Blocks development in Portland's Goose Hollow neighborhood.

This second, and larger, phase of the project includes two new buildings: a 24-story high-rise residential tower with 341 apartments, and a three-story commercial building with retail, work/live units and creative office space.

The mat pour for Sloane, Holland Partner Group and NASH Communities' 45-story residential high-rise in the Denny Triangle is scheduled to take place this Saturday.

When it opens, the residential tower will have 442 apartment units. Those will be served by five levels of subterranean parking with 262 parking stalls. The building will also have approximately 2,500 square feet of retail and luxury tenant amenities, including a rooftop space with views of the Space Needle, Elliott Bay and South Lake Union.

The Structural Engineers Association of Illinois (SEAOI) recently announced the winners of its 2024 Structural Engineering Awards, recognizing excellence in global structural engineering. Cary Kopczynski & Co. (CKC) received top honors with the Best Project Award for The Lark, a residential tower in Oakland, California, in the $50 million to $150 million category. CKC also earned a Merit Award for the innovative design of 222 Fifth Ave. N., a biotech office building in downtown Seattle.
